I Heart the Library of Congress Page

19 Apr

When I receive one of my new books, hot off the press, the first thing I like to check out is the Library of Congress page. I love this page. Not only does the LOC page’s Official Language signal that you just might be somebody, it is funny as heck.

Because I am hand-lettering all the text for Crankee Doodle, my book with Tom Angleberger, I got to see the Library of Congress page EARLY. And so, here is a hand-lettered snippet of this page for you to see, which probably tells you most everything you need to know about this book. And, as mentioned above, the language is funny as heck, especially the bit that goes “Mood (Psychology)—Fiction.” Well, funny to me, at least.
