So…what else can you do at the Rabbit & Robot Book Launch Party?

20 Sep

Well… you can do a lovely craft project! And if you do decide to do one, you are then eligible to enter your masterpiece in a contest and win who-knows-what. Wait! I-know-what! You can win a t-shirt with Rabbit AND Robot printed on it! Golly gee! And maybe some original art by moi!

I’ll be handing out these little beauties on 8.5 x 11 inch, luscious card stock:

BEFORE…

And then you can use all the delightful little crafty items we’ll have on hand, to create something like this:

…AFTER! (Robot by the amazing Terry Ellen Carter!)

Or like this:

…AFTER! (Robot Version 02, courtesy of the also amazing Kirk Carter!)

Many thanks to Kirk and Terry Ellen Carter, two of the most creative people I’ve met in a long time. They have their own business, Service First Webmasters. Terry Ellen is also a fantastic seamstress (soon you’ll be seeing some pics of me in the mod Twiggy outfit Terry Ellen made for me), while Kirk is a photographer of much renown. Check out his photography website here!

Yes, you too can create your own beautiful robot. The power will be at your fingertips…as long as those fingertips are at the Rabbit & Robot Book Launch Party on September 30th at the Meadowbrook Center in the metropolis we call Shawsville, VA!

I would love to use this craft at my library’s First Chapter Book Club discussion of Rabbit and Robot. Would you consider making the base image (the “plain” robot in the first picture) available as a free downloadable PDF? Love this kooky duo!

Very sorry for my delay in responding to you! I am going to try to create a link that will take you to the pdf so that you can print it out. Again, my apologies. Hope you are enjoying the book!
